Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD)Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a state university established by the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi through 2007’s Act of Legislature, and was notified in July 2008. The degrees awarded by Ambedkar University Delhi are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. AUD primarily is devoted to Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences, and AUD currently offers various Undergraduate (BA) and Postgraduate (MA/MBA) programmes.

The 3 acre AUD campus situated in the core of Delhi (10 mins walk from the Kashmere Gate metro station) has good infrastructure i.e. well-stocked libraries, reading rooms, online journals and computer labs. There are hostels for both boys and girls. The classroms have audio-visual equipments and the campus is completely wi-fi enabled. AUD’s permanent campuses are being planned in Dheerpur and Rohini.

The following are the important dates related to Ambedkar University’s admissions for the academic session 2015 – 2016:

  • 13 April – 20 June, 2015: Online applications for all UG & PG programmes
  • 20 May – 20 June, 2015: Offline (on campus) registrations/ applications
  • 29 June, 2015: List of applicants eligible for MA programmes will be displayed
  • 8 July, 2015: 1st cut off list for UG programmes
  • 1 – 7 July, 2015: Admission tests for various PG courses
  • 8 – 15 July, 2015: Interviews for various PG courses
  • 16 July, 2015: 1st admission list for MA courses

    Seats available

    Since AUD is a state university in Delhi, 85% seats are reserved for Delhiites and the rest for candidates from outside NCT of Delhi.

    • Each BA programme has a student capacity of 35 (total of 245 seats are available for the academic session of 2015-2016)
    • All MA programmes have a student intake of 42

    Eligibility criteria

    Get to know the detailed eligibility criteria for the B.A. Programmes & M.A. Programmes:

    B.A. Programme

    • Admission is merit-based on the best 4 subjects of the XII Board Examinations.
    • The eligibility criteria for BA Honours in Economics and Mathematics is that you should have attained a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in the XII Board Examination, and this must be included in the calculation of ‘Best Four Subjects’ of the same. If you belong to SC/ST/PD categories, a 5% relaxation will be given.
    • For BA English, you should have attained a minimum of 65% in English in the XII Board Examination

    M.A. Programme

    • A Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% or an equivalent grade from a recognized university is needed. For MA Education, MA Social Entrepreneurship and PG Diploma in Publishing, it is 50%. For the programmes offered by the School of Culture and Creative Expressions, it is 40%.
    • A relaxation of 5% is offered if you are of the SC/ST/PD category.
    • Eligibility is also based on entrance tests and interviews.
    • Admission to the MBA programme is based on the Entrance Test, Group Discussion, and Interview.

    Application procedure

    The steps to apply online are as follows:

    1. Go to AUD’s official website aud.ac.in.
    2. Click on ‘Admissions 2015‘.
    3. Read the given instructions carefully.
    4. Choose the UG/PG application link.
    5. Select Programme you want to apply for.
    6. Enter your preferences.
    7. Enter your e-mail address and the Captcha verification code.
    8. Click Submit.
    9. Click Register.
    10. The system will send a password to the e-mail address you entered.

    After you have checked your e-mail for the password:

    1. Go to AUD’s official website aud.ac.in.
    2. Click on ‘Admissions 2015‘.
    3. Choose the UG/PG application link.
    4. Select the Programme.
    5. Enter the registered e-mail address and Captcha verification code.
    6. Click Submit.
    7. Enter the system generated password that was mailed to you.
    8. Click Sign in.
    9. Read the instructions.
    10. Click Continue.

    On the first page of the Online Application Form:

    1. Upload your photograph.
    2. Select the Programme.
    3. Fill in your personal details.
    4. Select the Payment option: Cash/Online/DD
    • If you choose Cash
      • Pay Cash at AUD.
      • Enter Cash Receipt Details in the Application Form.
      • Click Save.
    • If you choose Online

      • Select an option: Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
      • Pay using the Billdesk Payment Gateway.
      • On successful payment, the webpage will redirect you to the Application Form.
      • Click Save.
    • If you choose DD

      • Enter DD details.
      • Click Save.

    On the second page of the Online Application Form:

    1. Enter the details of the qualifying examination.
    2. Upload your scanned signature.
    3. Click Save.
