Most of the universities and the institutes in Delhi conduct their own entrance exams and accept national level entrance exams too for admissions to their programmes. Following are the main entrance exams that need to be taken for admission to various colleges and universities in Delhi:
JEE Main
The Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) has replaced AIEEE from 2013 onwards as the single admission test for admission to engineering colleges (including all IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs) across Delhi as well as India.
JEE Advanced
The Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Advanced) has replaced the IIT-JEE from 2013 onwards as the single admission test for a seat in any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
CAT
One of the toughest MBA entrance exam that needs to be taken to qualify for admission to well-known management institutes in Delhi like FMS, DMS (IIT Delhi), Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM).
IIFT
The entrance exam for admission to MBA in International Business programme of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is considered to be as tough as, if not more, the CAT.
GGSIPU CET
The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in Delhi conducts various CET (common entrance tests) for admission to a host of courses it has to offer. GGSIPU is a state university accredited as Grade ‘A’ by the National assessment and Accreditation Council (NACC).
